The gardens of Etretat
Magical view of the cliff
Les Jardins d'Étretat...a magical place on the Falaise d'Amont in Étretat, with an exceptional view of the famous Aiguille. Poetically blending landscape art and land-art sculptures, the gardens seem to have been there forever.
It was Madame Thébault, a famous actress of the early 20th century and a close friend of Claude Monet, himself a lover of beautiful gardens, who decided to plant the first tree on this virgin territory. Resolutely avant-garde, the original spirit of the place has been preserved while adding a poetic dimension. It will delight lovers of topiaries and impressionist landscapes as well as admirers of contemporary art.
Created by the landscape architect Alexandre Grivko of IL NATURE, the extraordinary and surprising gardens are completely in keeping with the surrounding nature. The plant sculptures thus created are paintings of greenery with infinite expanses stretching out towards the sea. A green break and a discovery of land art that invites you to contemplate more than ever.
